Do you know where I could find a copy of Avrich's 1961 dissertation on the factory committees? I recently read an article from Long Haul Magazine about them and I feel like our whole movement needs to study them more.

I also wonder if Avrich ever met Sam Dolgoff.

Anyways, amazing and fascinating article, thank you for taking the time to write it.

Excellent piece on Paul Avrich. Great historian, I was fortunate to see his scholarship and understanding evolve as were my own understandings. His biographies on Anarchists and his book on The Modern School Movement were particularly helpful for my interest in two colonies that were started in my home town in the mid-1920's. Unfortunately, by the time I started actively researching my older contacts had passed. In 1983/84 I met Paul and a friend''s parents at a small presentation about at a small; workshop at NYU featuring people who attended the Modern School in Stelton.
